💥 Το πρόγραμμα BridgeSTEAM για κορίτσια 14-16 ετών επιστρέφει! 💥

To Girls in STEAM Academy ανακοινώνει το τρίτο πρόγραμμα για φέτος, το οποίο απευθύνεται σε κορίτσια ηλικίας 14-16 ετών και θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 7 & 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2024 στο Youth Makerspace Larnaka.

Ως μια μη κερδοσκοπική πρωτοβουλία, το Girls in STEAM Academy στοχεύει να γεφυρώσει το χάσμα στην εκπροσώπηση γυναικών και κοριτσιών στους τομείς STEAM (Επιστήμη, Τεχνολογία, Μηχανική, Τέχνες, Μαθηματικά). Από το 2021, το Academy έχει διεκπεραιώσει 14 προγράμματα BridgeSTEAM, μετρώντας περισσότερες από 200 απόφοιτες. Μπορείτε να δείτε τι λένε οι απόφοιτές του προγράμματος για την εμπειρία τους εδώ!

Το διήμερο διασκεδαστικό πρόγραμμα BridgeSTEAM έχει ως στόχο να ενδυναμώσει τις συμμετέχουσες σε τρία επίπεδα: α) ανάπτυξη δεξιοτήτων σε προγραμματισμό, β) ενημέρωση για τις επαγγελματικές ευκαιρίες που προσφέρονται στους τομείς των STEAM, και γ) επαφή με γυναίκες πρότυπα στο χώρο των STEAM στην Κύπρο. Το πρόγραμμα θα περιλαμβάνει επίσης εργαστήριο επαγγελματικού προγραμματισμού και εκπαιδευτικό εργαστήριο σχετικά με τους Στόχους Βιώσιμης Ανάπτυξης των Ηνωμένων Εθνών (UN SDGs).

The war in Ukraine has left the world in shock and has been one of the most significant moments in contemporary history, leaving thousands of people displaced and seeking for safety. The most vulnerable populations are young girls and women, who were forced to interrupt their studies. These programs specifically target Ukrainian-displaced girls and women, with the utmost purpose to empower them with knowledge and tools in order to enable them to access a STEAM-related education. Through the programs, the participants will also have the unique opportunity to network with peers, as well as with women role-models in STEAM fields. The programs are free of charge and will be offered in the English language.

BridgeSTEAM for girls from Ukraine aged 14-17:
Dates: 20-21 May 2023 (09:00 AM – 18:00 PM)
Location: Limassol (final venue to be confirmed)

The BridgeSTEAM programs for girls ages 14-17 aim to empower the participants on three different levels:
a) develop their coding skills,
b) inform them about the career opportunities in the STEAM fields, and
c) bring them in contact with inspiring women role models working in these fields in Cyprus.
The programs will also offer a career counseling workshop with a certified trainer, as well as a workshop addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs.

Other important information:

• Participation in the program is free of charge.
• Participants are expected to attend both days of the programs to be eligible.
• A certificate of attendance will be provided.
• Transportation to the venues will be the responsibility of the participants.

The programs will be conducted in English, and if required based on the responses of the applications, a translator from Ukrainian to English will be provided.

The BridgeSTEAM programs for girls from Ukraine are entirely free for the participants and are funded by the American Spaces Programs of the U.S. Department of State, with the support of the CUTing Edge – An American Space (Cyprus University of Technology), Amdocs Cyprus, and Youth Makerspace Larnaka (Youth Board of Cyprus).
